Etz Chaim Jewish Primary School

Hello and welcome to Reception!

Welcome to Reception! My name is Miss Ros and I am from Barcelona. I am very excited to be the Reception teacher at Etz Chaim.

Throughout the year the children will be given the opportunity to learn through play in a safe and supportive environment. All children learn in different ways and it is important to involve their interests in all activities. The children are given choices and have free flow between inside and outside the classroom. Observations will be taken of the children in each area of learning to plan and develop meaningful activities. These activities will be fun, interactive and engaging to match the needs and abilities of the children so they can reach their full potential.

I will be working closely with Miss Grant and Mrs Grant as the Teaching Assistant. The Jewish Studies Teacher will be Mrs Talisman and the Ivrit teacher will be Mrs Greene. The children will get to visit the Library twice a week where they will be given the opportunity to borrow a book to take home and participate in PE once a week.

Please remember to label your child’s uniform including hat, coat, shoes and kippot. The children will also need a full PE kit in the school’s drawstring PE bag which must also be labelled.

Looking forward to the exciting year ahead filled with energy, enthusiasm and most importantly learning!
