Yom Ha'atzmaut

The children really enjoyed celebrating Yom Ha'atzmaut (Israeli Independence Day) on Thursday 12th May 2016.  During the day the children enjoyed making Israeli foods such as rogelach, falafel and humus for special birthday parties for Israel. All the children enjoyed tasting our HUGE blue and white birthday cake and playing lots of party games in Hebrew at the class parties. The children also enjoyed taking part in a carousel of special Geography, Literacy and Art activities linked with Israel. Year 3 and 4 created an amazing giant map of Israel in the playground using coloured chalk! The children loved taking part in Israeli dance workshops with their parents which were led by Mrs I. Levy. Children (and parents!) from Nursery to Year 4 enjoyed learning a variety of new dances and our Israeli Dance Club demonstrated some of the more complicated dances!  We are now looking forward to celebrating Israel's 69th birthday!
