Streetwise Anti-Bullying Workshop

This week to celebrate Anti-Bullying Week the children all had an interactive workshop by Streetwise. All the children learnt about bullying and how to stand up against it.
Streetwise came into Reception to talk to them about being a good friend and how to be kind to others. The children watched a short about birds being unkind to each other. The children then made posters about how to being a good friend. The children have loved friendship week, they picked out a name from an envelope to choose a secret friend and wrote messages and drew pictures for their secret friends
In lower Key Stage 2 they discussed the four types of bullying and how someone might feel if they were being bullied. They learnt about the analogy of the 'sword' and the 'shield'. The sword being the bully and the shield being someone they could turn to for help and advice. The children then wrote their shields down to remind them. It was a very informative and engaging session.
