Etz Chaim Jewish Primary School

PSA   January 2015

As Etz Chaim Jewish Primary School is in its growth stage, the involvement and commitment of its relatively small parent body and the local community is both needed and most greatly appreciated.

 

The PSA of Etz Chaim Jewish Primary School was set up in September 2012 with the aim of:

 

1) developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and other associates with the school; and

 

2) engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils.

 

Over the past couple of years the PSA has made a great effort to raise some much needed funds for the school. Our exciting events have included; a family day at Belmont farm, a first aid talk, a Chanukah social and a family cinema event. Money has also been raised through the production and sale of a school calendar and tea towels as well as various raffles.

 

The funds raised to date have been used to purchase some playground equipment and to enhance the classrooms. The funds raised this year will be spent on improving the school library amongst other things.

 

The PSA have purchased the following items on behalf of the school which the children have already benefitted from:
 
-   a library scanning system plus £2,500 worth of library books,
-   soft seating for reading areas for each classroom,
-   portable coat hook stands for the lunch hall,
-   KNEX construction kits,
-   Design and technology workshops,
- some playground equipment (quoits, hula hoops etc),
- 20 trestle tables,
- £100 at the beginning of each school year to each teacher to enhance their classroom,

We are proud to be purchasing the following items for the children to enjoy in 2015:
-   Chinese New Year workshops
-   Circus skill workshops,
-   Water wall for outside play,
-   Gardening equipment,

As our School is in its growth stage, the involvement and commitment of its relatively small parent body and the local community is both needed and most greatly appreciated. If anyone is interested in joining the PSA or to sit on a sub-committee for a particular event, please do not hesitate to let one of the committee members know.
