Etz Chaim Jewish Primary School

School Lunches

Etz Chaim Jewish Primary School actively supports healthy eating and drinking throughout the school day, ensuring that all aspects of food and nutrition in school promotes health and well-being of pupils, staff and visitors to our school. All our school meals are provided by ISS who have a healthy food policy as part of their tender. There is a choice of fresh fruit and vegetables each day and they provide a vegetarian and non-vegetarian option, both of which pay regard to nutritional balance and healthy options. The children are supported in their selections by the lunchtime supervisors who encourage the children to take a balanced meal.
With effect from September 2014 all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will be eligible for a free school meal (this is part of the government initiative called Universal Free School Meals).
Families with children in Year 3 upwards who receive benefits may be entitled to free school meals, please see our Pupil Premium Grant page for more information or ask the school office for a Free School Meals application form and return it with recent proof of entitlement.
