Etz Chaim Jewish Primary School actively supports healthy eating and drinking throughout the school day, ensuring that all aspects of food and nutrition in school promotes health and well-being of pupils, staff and visitors to our school. All our school meals are provided by ISS who have a healthy food policy as part of their tender. There is a choice of fresh fruit and vegetables each day and they provide a vegetarian and non-vegetarian option, both of which pay regard to nutritional balance and healthy options. The children are supported in their selections by the lunchtime supervisors who encourage the children to take a balanced meal.
With effect from September 2014 all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will be eligible for a free school meal (this is part of the government initiative called Universal Free School Meals).
Families with children in Year 3 upwards who receive benefits may be entitled to free school meals, please see our Pupil Premium Grant page
for more information or ask the school office for a Free School Meals application form and return it with recent proof of entitlement.
