Museum of London

Year 3 and 4 had a great time visiting the Museum of London. The children walked through the 'London before London' gallery looking at objects from the Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages. The artefacts on show inspired the children and helped to bring their learning to life. The gallery's design matched the learning that we have doing in class and lead the children through the ages showing how humans evolved from being scavengers to settlers, from hunter gathers to farmers. It was really great to be so close to objects which have lasted, some for as long as 20 000 years. The jaw and foot bone of a London mammoth was particularly memorable.
