Bikeability Workshop

Year 4 have thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the free Bikeability Training at Level 1.  This programme was designed to make children more competent cyclists and prepare them for eventually cycling on the road. Training was carried out by Cycle Confident, Barnet’s cycle training provider and was delivered by two fully accredited National Standards cycling instructors with enhanced DBS checks.

Here are some quotes from the children:

'I didn't know how to ride a bike but now I can!'
'At first I was falling down but now I can ride.'
'I could ride before but now I can stop straight away.'
'I really enjoyed new skills especially riding with only one hand on the bars.'
'I learnt how to do the ABCD check.  It is useful because it helps me to check my bike ready to ride.'
'I knew how to ride a bike but I learnt some new skills like stopping with my feet on the pedals.'
