Maths Parent Workshop
We held a Maths Workshop for our families to help them support their children at home.
Mrs Osborne explained how maths is taught differently from when our parents were at school and that many of the methods we use are different. She shared a video made by students of Jo Boaler at Stanford University, about growth mindset and how our brains grow more when we find something tricky than when things come easily.
Mrs Osborne also presented a range of ideas about using everyday objects found at home that parents can use to help their children with Maths as well as some ideas and games to play.
The most important message of the evening was never tell your child that Maths is boring or that you found maths hard at school.
