Etz Chaim Jewish Primary School

Year 4 Trip to the British Museum

Year 4 visited the British Museum where they explored links between Ancient Egypt, part of their IPC topic of Temples, Tombs and Treasure, and the festival of Pesach. Following the Looktolearn tour, children learnt about how mummies were prepared, including, according to the Torah, Yaakov and Yosef. They also explored the importance of the river Nile and the impact of the plagues on the Egyptians and finally they made links between the Egyptian Book of the Dead and the hardening of Pharaoh's heart. The children all learnt many interesting things and thoroughly enjoyed the day.
