Bus and Road Safety Workshop 2015

The children thoroughly enjoyed a workshop on Bus and Road Safety.  They were reminded how to cross a road safely by looking all around and listening for traffic before they cross.  They also now know where it is safe to stand when waiting to cross a road or get on a bus and that it is never safe to cross in front of two parked cars or buses! 

The children will use what they have learnt when they go out of school by thinking about a safe place to cross the road and making sure they look and listen.  They will know not to cross between two parked cars.  They also know to use a zebra crossing or pelican crossing to assist them if there is one.  When they go out of school to use the bus, they should remember to think of a safe place to stand while waiting for the bus which is away from the edge of the kerb along with when they get off the bus, they will wait for the bus to drive off before they cross the road as the bus can block the vision of other vehicles.
