"The best thing about my school is Mrs Baron." Reception
Welcome from the Headteacher
Welcome to Etz Chaim Jewish Primary School. We are an inclusive, vibrant school and pride ourselves on putting our children at the centre of our vision and ethos. Our committed staff work hard to ensure that all our children develop the confidence and resilience to become independent learners. Teachers have developed an exciting and engaging curriculum that nurtures children’s curiosity and enthusiasm for learning, encouraging individual talents and goals to flourish at the same time.
We have high expectations and genuinely care about achievement for all. We are a forward thinking school and continually develop our curriculum and environments to inspire our children to become curious and motivated learners. Our children develop as well-rounded individuals who achieve excellent academic results and are well prepared for secondary school.
Fostering a love of reading is something we are passionate about. Children are immersed in an enjoyable reading curriculum - love our school library and regular author visits. We believe that learning is enriched and made more memorable through first hand experiences. Themed days, school trips and specialist visitors stimulate children’s interests as well as bring the curriculum to life.
In addition to our Classrooms and learning spaces, we offer a well-resourced environment with a library, music room, technology, garden area, dedicated astroturf for football/netball. Our local area provides rich learning opportunities with the park, Mill Hill Library and High Street close by. We have specialist music, PE and Ivrit teachers. Children have the opportunity to join a wide range of activity clubs before, during and after school. We also provide our own high quality, affordable wrap around care - breakfast and after school club.
All staff understand the need to nurture the whole child and are supported by our SENCO who plays a key role in nurturing children’s wellbeing. They are also there to offer guidance, support and a listening ear for parents.
Our families represent a broad spectrum of backgrounds. We celebrate the Jewish values we share, and explore the differences that make each of us unique, through understanding and respect of the many practices within modern orthodox Judaism.
We hope you will find the information on our website useful, but do not hesitate to contact us if you cannot find what you are looking for or if you would like to visit the school.
I look forward to meeting you at forthcoming events and working with you and your children in the years ahead.
