Etz Chaim Jewish Primary School

Recorders

Children at Etz Chaim are able to start learning to play the recorder from the Summer Term of Year 2 up to Year 6.  Children learn in small groups of about 10, and they start by learning how to hold the recorder properly and how to produce a good quality sound.  We then progress by learning to play notes one at a time, and then combine notes learned.  We play ‘real’ music with fun backing tracks.  Children gradually become more proficient at playing a range of notes within one piece, and we perform to the rest of the school towards the end of the Summer Term.
