In Year 3 this week we have had a lot of fun doing thing for Sukkot. One of the thing wew did was make our own little cardboard mini sukkot.

In Year 3 music this week, the children were learning about musical cords in relation to Indian music and tried to create their own ‘rag’

In Year 3 English this week, we were looking in groups at an image from our book of the main character Hannah on her bed with her birthday present – a toy gorilla. Children were asked to annotate the paper with their observations and predictions.

In Year 3 Geography this week, we have been creating our own volcanic eruptions. To prevent the mess in the classroom, we took the lesson outside.

In Year 3 Geography this week, we have been looking at what is below our feet. To help us to understand, we made our own Earth, using different colours of salt dough to depicts the core, outer core and crust of the Earth, then cut it in half so we could see a cross section of all the layers. Even though they made it, they were all shocked to see the different layers when they cut into it.

This week in Art, Year 3 have been painting pictures that make us think of autumn, so we have used autumn colours and the nature that falls down in autumn, like trigs, leaves, conkers and acorns.

In Jewish Studies this week, the childen have been learning about the importance of Teshuva, Tefillah and Tzedakah (forgiveness, prayer and charity) as the three pathways to being a better person as we near to Yom Kippur. To remind them of their learning, they made their own Tzedakah boxes.

In computing this week, we have been concentrating on learning how to log on to the school system, how make the letters capital and to find the funny symbols we need, all for our passwords to work.

In Art this week, we went on a nature hunt, to look for examples of autumn, that we could use for our artwork.

In Science this week we have been looking at nutrition and healthy eating. We worked in pairs to organise images of all different food types into the correct food groups, and the benefits/disadvantages of each group.
