21/11/25 

In Science this week, Year 3 have been continuing our investigation of rocks. The children looked at ways to describe the different properties and Mrs Cohen brought in some polished fancy rocks, that are used to turn into jewellery.

In Art this week, we managed to do the autumn leaf stamping, that we missed getting to do over Sukkot.

In English, we worked in groups to draw predictions about the new book we are about to start reading.

In Science this week, Year 3 have been looking at the Human skeleton. We have been investigating if the length of a person’s Femur, makes a difference to how far they can jump. We made predictions, measured our femurs and went outside to measure our jumps.

In Year 3 this week we have had a lot of fun doing thing for Sukkot. Using items from nature and recycling only, we built our own sukkot – which was very tough and took a lot of patience.

In Year 3 this week we have had a lot of fun doing thing for Sukkot. One of the thing wew did was make our own little cardboard mini sukkot.

In Year 3 music this week, the children were learning about musical cords in relation to Indian music and tried to create their own ‘rag’

In Year 3 English this week, we were looking in groups at an image from our book of the main character Hannah on her bed with her birthday present – a toy gorilla. Children were asked to annotate the paper with their observations and predictions.

In Year 3 Geography this week, we have been creating our own volcanic eruptions. To prevent the mess in the classroom, we took the lesson outside.

In Year 3 Geography this week, we have been looking at what is below our feet. To help us to understand, we made our own Earth, using different colours of salt dough to depicts the core, outer core and crust of the Earth, then cut it in half so we could see a cross section of all the layers. Even though they made it, they were all shocked to see the different layers when they cut into it.

This week we have been reminding ourselves about the importance of road safety. Jointly with Year 6, the children went outside in groups, to cross the road safely and go over what are the important steps, while others made posters about important road safety factors to remember.

This week in science, we were looking at the properties of different types of rocks. We looked at them under a magnifying glass and tested things like their mass, how hard they were, and if they floated.

This week in Jewish Studies, the children have been looking at the idea of being excited to do a mitzvah, drawing their own mitzvot ideas that they are excited to do.

This week we have been doing work around Black History Month, looking at some different people, from our country and around the world have had really interesting stories to share. We also made some colourful pictures of some of the people we learnt about.

This week in Yr3 we also needed a great amount of patience and will power to try and create an edible sukkah. Will power in not eating it before it was ready and patience in getting the walls to stay standing using only icing sugar glue and a prayer!

This week in Art, Year 3 have been painting pictures that make us think of autumn, so we have used autumn colours and the nature that falls down in autumn, like trigs, leaves, conkers and acorns.

In Jewish Studies this week, the childen have been learning about the importance of Teshuva, Tefillah and Tzedakah (forgiveness, prayer and charity) as the three pathways to being a better person as we near to Yom Kippur. To remind them of their learning, they made their own Tzedakah boxes.

In computing this week, we have been concentrating on learning how to log on to the school system, how make the letters capital and to find the funny symbols we need, all for our passwords to work.

In Art this week, we went on a nature hunt, to look for examples of autumn, that we could use for  our artwork.

In Science this week we have been looking at nutrition and healthy eating. We worked in pairs to organise images of all different food types into the correct food groups, and the benefits/disadvantages of each group.
