The children learnt about vehicle safety during Road Safety Week and designed new safer vehicles.

The class have been working hard in their maths, using multiplication grids to find multiples, factors and prime numbers.

The children worked hard in teams to create marble runs using cardboard tubes and tape. They were very proud of their creations.

During their Science lesson this week, the class investigated how to separated different mixtures, including pasta and sand, water and iron filings.

Year 5 enjoyed an amazing SEED activity, trying to build a succah out of materials given and in an interesting way, including a succah on a boat and a succah on a camel!

The class were given a task to create an advert for a shop to sell a kosher succah. One team decided that IKEA could sell a succah for the low price of £20!

Another fun Science lesson this week, investigating electrical conductors and insulators. The children made electrical circuits and tested different materials within the circuit to see if the lightbulb would stay on.

The children enjoyed learning about coordinates in Geography, finding different buildings and road on a map.

Geography was a fun lesson this week, learning about the 8 compass points and using a compass to walk in different directions around the playground.

In our first computing lesson, the children were tasked with safely using a search engine to find the answers to a series of questions.

Year 5 have been reading about Odysseus and his crew, walking through the Land of the Dead. They worked as teams to create choral poetry as the crew and the dead.

Year 5 enjoyed starting their new English unit, learning about Greek mythology.

In their final Science lesson of the unit, the children learnt about reversible and irreversible changes.

The class enjoyed their music lesson this week, learning how to read notes on a scale.

The children had a lovely trip to a local succah, having a delicious biscuit and juice with their classmates.

The children worked hard as a team, designing front covers for the different books of the Torah.

The children began making their Succah craft, creating a ‘blessing on the home’ to hang in a succah.

In Science, the children investigated conductors and insulators by wrapping cups with different materials and filling them with warm water. They waited for 5 minutes and then used a thermometer to measure the change in temperature.

In English, the class practised working together with their partner to edit each other’s writing.
