Etz Chaim Jewish Primary School

Year 3

The children have been learning to code by exploring Scratch Junior.

In Computing, the children started learning about Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint. They used PowerPoint to present a significant person of their choice as our topic this half term was 'Significant People: The Made a Difference'. They enjoyed adding pictures and writing to their slides as well as presenting their work to the rest of the class.

The children enjoyed acting out the life of Katherine Johnson and focusing on the idea that everyone should have equal opportunities regardless of their appearance.

The children have really enjoyed learning to play the ukelele every week.

The children thoroughly enjoyed all their Chanukah activities. They were very proud of their Chanukiot which they made out of clay, and were so happy to be able to light them at home. They also enjoyed some lovely doughnuts as well as spinning the dreidel.

The children enjoyed building their teamwork skills in this PSHE lesson. The class worked together to build the tallest pyramid they could.

The children created worlds based on universal rules that every society must have.

Year 3 have been investigating what might happen when water is added to Crystal Soil (water absorbent Polymer).

In Science, the children carried out an investigation using water, oil and food colouring. The children worked scientifically to find out what would happen to the food colouring when they added it to a cup which already had oil and water in it. The class wrote down their predictions and observations as well as their evaluations after the experiment had finished.

The children enjoyed creating and painting sculptures based on the picture The Battle of San Romano by Paola Uccello.
