Nursery

image

The children in Nursery have enjoyed mark making.  It has been great to see how their fine motor skills have developed with time.

image

This half term the children enjoyed their trip to Belmont Farm.  They had the opportunity to pet some animals, feed them and learn some information about them.

image

In the first half of the Summer term Nursery's IPC topic was 'Houses and Homes.' One of their favourite stories was “The Three Little Pigs.”  They enjoyed acting the story outside using the crates to support them.

image

The children enjoyed making patterns with the Numicon.

image

Our IPC topic in Spring 1 has been Food.  The children have enjoyed role playing different foods in our restaurant.

image

In Autumn 2 the children enjoyed making shape pictures with lollypop sticks.

image

The children took part in several experiments during Science Day. This one was about colour transferring.  The children were making predictions before anything happened “The colours will mix. I’m sure”

image

At Nursery they love exploring with the water. They have explored how things float and sink and the children have enjoy filling and emptying cups.

image

In Nursery the children love baking. They have baked cakes, biscuits and cookies and all of them were great!

image

At the beginning of the year, the Nursery children decided to teach some games to the class. They have developed such independence and confidence that they can now play them independently. They have been amazing turn taking and remembering the rules.

They also loved planting the beautiful flowers in the garden, mixing the soil and watering them.

image

They have been really interested in mark making with different resources and creating interesting pictures.

image

In the second half of Spring term, Nursery have been focusing on the IPC topic “Let’s Pretend”. They have been dressing up and learning lots about Traditional Tales.

image

In Nursery the children have explored a range of materials that are magnetic and not magnetic.

image

To celebrate Chinese New Year the children used the chop sticks in the sand to mark make different Chinese numbers!

image
image

The children enjoyed their environmental walks around school.  They listened to all the sounds they could hear and drew some lovely pictures.

image

In Ivrit we have learnt about Noah's Ark and Abraham and his family.

image

There is always something going on at Nursery.  We have lots of new experiences like baking plantains during Black History Month.

image

The children have been really interested in measuring each other and objects around the classroom. Some of them use footprints to measure tables or chairs and some others preferred to have a go with measuring tapes.

image
image

Nursery have been working on their balance and upper body strength with a range of fun games.

image

The children enjoyed using the clipboards to draw pictures and write messages to their parents.

image

In Jewish Studies the children made crowns for the Purim story.

image

During Book Week the children enjoyed paired reading with Year 3!

image

For Road Safety Week the children liked role playing how to cross the road safely.  They also went out on Daws Lane to cross the road.

image

During PE the children moved to the rhythm of the music using the scarves to support their actions.

image

The children have enjoyed running on a track, hoping and slithering.
