This term, Year 4 has linked with a Year 4 class in Tamale, Ghana. The project, organised by Tzedek, has given the children an opportunity to explore a different lifestyle to the one our children experience.
The children in both schools have been given similar tasks to do in order to swap their work and find out about each other. Our Year 4 pupils at Etz Chaim have inquisitive minds and have sent many questions to the children at Northern Star School. They look forward to responding to the questions they have been sent which should arrive in due course. Working without the use of the Internet is testing the patience of some who are eagerly waiting for the package to arrive!
This week, our classroom changed from ‘Chocolate’ to a ‘Ghana’ experience, where the children participated in ‘hands on’ activities. Mrs Levy and Ben T and Ben S, from Tzedek, put together an exciting programme. The children immersed themselves in learning about the culture and people in Ghana through practical activities encompassing the curriculum.
Introducing themselves to their Tzedek partner school. They used words and phrases in Dagbani, the local language in Tamale. The week was fascinating and everyone enjoyed it.
