Friendship Week

Both staff and children enjoyed taking part in Fab Friendship Week.  The children learnt about friendship and how they can be a good friend.  Each child also picked a name of someone in their class out of a hat at the start of the week.  Throughout the week, each child needs to try to be extra kind to the child whose name they picked out.  At the end of the week, each child will reveal whose name they picked.

Here is what some year groups got up to during the week:

In Maths, Year 3 focused on sharing equally as the children were asked to divide cubes fairly between sets of children.  To understand what qualities are important in a friendship, the children designed friendship pizzas.

Year 5 all participated in A-Z of playground games.

Year 6 enjoyed a Streetwise anti-bullying session where they learnt about what constitutes as bullying and how we can be kind and support each other.  We also enjoyed a workshop run by Camp Simcha which taught us to celebrate and accept our differences.  In addition, we reflected on how we were good friends to each other and supported each other during our trip to Kingswood, and discussed ways we could continue to do this in the classroom.
