Parliament Week

The children enjoyed celebrating Parliament Week, our local MP Matthew Offord came in and spoke to Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1.  Lord Levy came in and spoke to Key Stage 2.

To celebrate Parliament Week, the children in Year 3 completed quizzes and researched information about parliament.  To support the children's learning in English, the children corrected the spelling and grammar errors in a paragraph about parliament.

Year 5 learnt about what democracy meant. They did a vote on what to name our class bear, they got into Parliamentary Groups to discuss the law “ this class believes that all questions should be answered in a rhyme” and they also answered a parliament questionnaire.

Year 6 enjoyed a talk by Lord Levy all about Parliament.  They learnt about the House of Lords and how Parliament is structured.  They also heard about how Lord Levy became a Lord and asked some interesting questions.  They enjoyed a discussion and a debate about what they thought would make a good Prime Minister.
