Tu Bishvat

To celebrate Tu Bishvat the children came to school wearing brown or green and enjoyed eating variety of fruits that grow on the trees and on the ground.

Nursery and Reception celebrated Tu Bishvat by carrying out a range of exciting activities. The children baked apple crumble, made bark rubbings, used fruit to make prints and finally joined together at the end for a fruit party.

Year 1 and 2 joined together to do a carousel  of exciting Tu Bishvat activities. They were -making paper mache fruit, exotic fruit tasting, kebab making, fruit fan necklaces ,decorate cookies with icing , collaging fruit tree shape , creating 3D fruit shapes and decorating a leaf.  The children all had a wonderful time and took home some art work as well.

Year 3 and 4 enjoyed having a Tu Bishvat Seder. They discussed the importance of trees and imagined a world without trees which made us realise how lucky we are to have trees and how important it is to look after our environment and the trees. We ate different types of fruit and discussed how special and different each fruit is.

Year 5 and 6 came together to enjoy a beautiful Tu Bishvat seder. The children sang songs, brainstormed fifteen uses of trees , made up fruit riddles and drank four cups of grape juice corresponding to the four different types of fruit that grow on the trees.
