World Thinking Day

Thursday 22nd February is World Thinking Day.  This is a day when all Rainbows, Brownies and Guides all over the world come together to celebrate the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.

Thursday 22nd February is also Founder’s Day for Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of the worldwide Scout Movement, was born on 22nd February 1857, which is more than 150 years ago. Scouts worldwide, roughly 30 million in 161 countries, celebrate his birthday each year as Founder’s Day.

To recognise World Thinking Day and Founder’s Day, children that are Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Rainbows or Brownies, wore their uniform to school on 22 February. The children also enjoyed an assembly to mark the day.
