Key Stage One participated in a fantastic Toy Workshop where they explored a number of toys both old and new. They had the opportunity of playing with some very old toys and thought carefully about how they were similar and different to those they play with today. Many of the old toys were made out of wood and some were made out of metal. The newer toys were made out of plastic and were a lot more colourful. The children also learnt about how archaeologists dig up artefacts from the past. They dug up their own toys and considered which ones were the oldest and why. The afternoon was a highlight of the day, where the children made their own toys to take home and enjoy with their families. Thank you to History off the Page and to all the parent volunteers who helped make the day so special!
