On Monday 24th June, 18 Year 4 children gathered in the library for a special book bites session (lunch in the library). While they ate their lunch, Mrs Zinkin read the picture book Nibbles by Emma Yarlett. They then had a discussion about ‘nibbling books’, including other books about book eating children or monsters, why food features so much in children’s books, and their favourite books about food. After lunch was finished, the children set about making Nibbles BookMark Book Corners – using their origami skills to create pockets and then decorate their folded yellow card into Nibbles monsters. By the end of the session, the library was overrun with monsters!
Everyone agreed it had been a nutritious lunch – for the brain certainly.
