As part of their Science learning, Year 2 enjoyed a fantastic trip to the Welsh Harp. They began the day pond dipping, searching for creatures that live in water. They enjoyed looking at them more closely using a magnifying glass. They found lots of newts and flying boatmans!
They then went on a nature hunt where they found all different plants, trees and a squirrel drey. They loved seeing a hundred year old tree as well as a number of bee hives. Did you know that each hive contained around 8000 bees!
The day ended with a mini beast hunt, where the children rolled over logs to find all sorts of creatures including snails, slugs, woodlice and many more!
