Rosh Hashanah

Our Rosh Hashanah preparation has been thorough and enthusiastic! Every morning, Rabbi Herman blew the shofar at line-up time to start us off in the right frame of mind. Each class worked hard to make a Rosh Hashanah card and craft and everyone also did some baking, with Year 5 helping Foundation Stage to make honey cakes. SEED came in to help families make amazing crafts for the chag and all the children learnt Rosh Hashanah songs which we sang together in assembly. In addition, a group of Year 5 children travelled to Clore Manor to sing for the residents. We also had a visit from Year 5 and 6 from Fairway school, where out Year 6 children explained to them what we do during the Tishrei chagim. The highlight was getting some of the Fairway children to try and blow the shofar, which quite a few of them succeeded in doing!
