Year 5 Shabbaton
The Shabbaton was the highlight of the year so far. The children in Year 5 worked very hard to prepare for the Shabbaton in class. They made their own Havdallah sets, heard from different Rabbis, created different directions, placements and place cards. They created beautiful candelsticks that they used on the shabbaton too.
On arrival, Year 5 were greeted by the Lincolnsfield staff and shown to their rooms. We brought Shabbat in together and enjoyed a lovely dinner with lots of ruach and zimmerot. After dinner the children participated in a Mitzvah board game and had a great time getting to know their tribe Madrichim.
On Saturday we enjoyed various Tribe activities including some rather musical parsha plays. The Tribe Madrichim, School Staff and children enjoyed a wonderful day full of food, walks, ruach and activities. Motzei Shabbat we had a fantastic Havdallah and said goodbye to the madrichim. Year 5 then got to enjoy an Ice Cream party and some evening activities including a Disney Quiz, Giant game of noughts and crosses and bridge building.
The children learnt a lot about each other during the trip and bonded together as a class. It was a lovely experience to see everyone speaking to new people, forging stronger relationships and having a great time together. It will be a fond memory for all involved.

'I just enjoyed being with my friends and playing games that didn't involve a screen and even though we didn't play on ipads or phones, I had the best time'
