Online Safety
For Online Safety week, each class completed various activities to reinforce online safety. Year 1 read a story about Smartie the Penguin who was given a tablet for his birthday. He learnt that if he had a problem or something unexpected came up on screen, he should always ask an adult for help. The children created their own posters to remind their friends about this. Year 2 learnt how to carefully log in to a computer and follow instructions to access a website. The Year 3 children used the internet to explore age appropriate apps. They made a booklet to help guide younger years about the importance of E-safety. Year 4 took part in various tasks for online safety week. They went over and recapped the SMART rules and why they are important. They also looked at healthy and unhealthy behaviours online. They sorted different scenarios into healthy or unhealthy and explained their reasoning. Year 5 made posters to inform younger children on how they can stay safe online. During Online Safety Week, Year 6 participated in a quiz. They were split into groups to test their knowledge about how to be safe online that they had learnt in prior years. They enjoyed the competition and refreshed themselves on their online safety knowledge. The children also completed puzzles based around online safety rules and how to keep safe online. This included reminders of what to do if they feel unsafe while using the internet.
