Etz Chaim Jewish Primary School

Chaggim

The children had a wonderful Rosh Hashanah, making beautiful cards and honey mats and Yom Kippur this year.  Sukkot was really special, with children participating in a range of activities organised by the teachers and sports leaders.

Children made beautiful decorations for the school sukkah - the challenge was to make them durable and from recycled materials. Children visited the sukkah and shook lulav and etrog inside it.

They also had special Art assemblies where they learned to draw portraits of a friend's face and they learned some Israeli dances. There was baking of honey cakes and apple and honey biscuits, which were both delicious! As it was Bike to School week, the children brought in their bikes and scooters and rode around in the playground. The sports leaders also oversaw a Basketball challenge, where children were challenged to shoot the ball accurately through the hoop.
