This year, our whole‑school Book Week was inspired by The Full Stop That Got Away by Laura Baker, the story of Frank the Full Stop.

Throughout the week, the children became punctuation detectives, searching for Frank’s punctuation pals and solving the mystery of where Frank was hiding. This created great excitement across the school and helped the children explore the different punctuation marks and how they are used to bring writing to life.

All story writing and creative activities were centred around Frank and his punctuation friends, and it was wonderful to see such a wide range of punctuation being confidently used in the children’s writing.

We also thoroughly enjoyed our Staff Story Session and Family Reading Session, which gave family members the opportunity to come into school and share some special reading time with the children, exploring the many fantastic books from our school library together.
