Internet Safer Day 2017

The children celebrated Internet Safer Day, 'Be the change: unite for a better Internet'

This year the Digital Leaders help Mrs Hyman lead an E-Safety assembly to the school and they also visited each class to work with the children on helping them to understand how to stay safe when using the internet, both in school and at home.

In the Foundation Stage and Key stage 1 the children learnt how to stay safe online by following what Lee and Kim did in a computer game called Animal Magic.  SID the superhero helped them to stay safe on the internet.  Click here to watch Lee and Kim.

In Lower Key Stage 2 the children also learnt how to stay safe online by watching 'The adventures of Kara and Winston and the smart Crew.'  This video outlines the SMART RULES and includes a real life SMART Crew of young people, who guide the cartoon characters in their quest, and help them make safe online decisions. In Upper Key Stage 2 the children also learnt how to stay safe online by watching the Jigsaw Video.  The message of this video is the power that social media has on children.  Click here to watch the video to find out how to help your child to remain safe when using the internet.

The Digital Leaders also went into each class and together they read some discussion cards and carried out some role play with how to best deal with the situation.
