Yom Ha'atzmaut 2017

The children really enjoyed celebrating Yom Ha'atzmaut (Israeli Independence Day) on Tuesday 2nd May 2017.  During the day the children made Israeli foods such as Israeli salad and hummus for special birthday parties for Israel. They also enjoyed a special Israeli lunch with foods such as falafel, Israeli salad and shwarma. All the children loved tasting our AMAZING blue and white birthday cake and playing lots of party games in Hebrew at the class Yom Ha'atzmaut Ivrit picnics. The FS and KS1 children  enjoyed taking part in a carousel of special Geography, Literacy and Art activities linked with Israel. Year 3, 4 and 5 focused on Art and Music linked with Israel and some classes had their very own "Israelvision" music contest! The children loved taking part in Israeli dance workshops led by our Israeli Dance Club. Children from Nursery to Year 5 enjoyed learning a variety of new dances and our Israeli Dance Club demonstrated some of the more complicated dances!  We are now looking forward to celebrating Israel's 70th birthday!
